The closer the cutting surface is to the focus, the smoother it is, and the lower surface that is relatively far away from the focus of the cutting machine appears to be rougher.

2. The cutting focus of the laser cutting machine is on the top of the workpiece

The cutting focus is on the top of the workpiece. At this time, we also call the focusing mode negative focal length. It is generally used to cut materials with high thickness. The reason why the cutting focus is positioned above the cutting material is mainly because thicker plates require a larger cutting width during the cutting process, otherwise the oxygen delivered by the nozzle is very likely to be insufficient, causing the cutting temperature to drop. The cutting effect of this method is relatively rough on the cutting surface and is not suitable for high-precision cutting.

3. The cutting focus of the laser cutting machine is inside the workpiece


This focusing mode is also called positive focal length. In this mode, since the focus is far away from the cutting surface of the cutting material, the cutting width is larger than the cutting point on the workpiece surface. At the same time, the required cutting airflow is large, the temperature is sufficient, and the cutting and perforation time is slightly longer; so the workpiece material is selected when it is a hard material such as stainless steel or aluminum.
